ServSafe® Training
Food safety is not just important—it’s the law. Effective January 2020, the Alabama Department of Public Health requires that a Food Protection Manager Certification holder must be present at all times during food establishment operations.
ServSafe® Manager Training
Our ServSafe® Manager Training provides in-depth instruction based on the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research, and proven sanitation practices. This training equips managers with essential knowledge to maintain high food safety standards and create a culture of compliance.
- Certification is valid statewide for five years.
- Workbooks are available in English and Spanish.
- Online exam proctoring is available through ServSafe and ProctorU.

Scholarships & Education Support
Kirk Kirkland Memorial Scholarship
In partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF), ARHA provides scholarships to Alabama students pursuing careers in restaurant and lodging management.
- Awards up to $2,000
- Application Deadline: March 31
Eligibility Requirements
✔ Accepted into an Alabama two- or four-year college
✔ Enrolled in hospitality, culinary, or food service management courses
✔ Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
✔ Demonstrate leadership in on- and off-campus activities

- Complete the Online Application
- Submit a copy of your transcript
- Provide one letter of recommendation (teacher, personal reference, or industry employer)
- Include a letter of acceptance from your school (if not currently enrolled)
